June 16, 2025 — The 35th annual Best of NeoCon Awards kicked off NeoCon 2025 with a high-energy ceremony at THE MART in Chicago, spotlighting the most forward-thinking products transforming the future of commercial interiors. A cornerstone of the commercial interiors show since 1990, the iconic Best of NeoCon program celebrates exceptional solutions spanning workplace, healthcare, education, retail and hospitality. This year, 96 awards were given to exhibitors for products across more than 40 categories, with honors awarded for Gold, Silver, Innovation, Sustainability and Business Impact. The program’s top distinction, Best of Competition, was awarded to HALCON for its ASTORIA collection of conference and mobile communal tables. People’s Choice Awards were presented June 10, giving the industry a voice in the awards.

A multidisciplinary jury of 42 architects, designers, specifiers, enterprise clients, and facility managers (FMs) — including leaders from Gensler, Corgan, CannonDesign, Marmon Mok, Shepley Bulfinch, Aflac and Walgreens — convened on-site at THE MART to evaluate submissions throughout the NeoCon show floors. An additional panel of eight business media professionals and two facility managers determined the Business Impact Awards. See the full jury list here.

The jurors were incredibly thoughtful and rigorous in their evaluations this year. The winning products aren’t just keeping pace with industry trends — they’re actively driving critical design movements, from circularity and neuro-inclusive thinking to the integration of AI and advanced material innovation. We saw manufacturers embrace empathy, rethink flexibility, and experiment with form and function, addressing the evolving ways people live, work, heal, learn and connect now.

Eileen McMorrow, director of Best of NeoCon

The Best of Competition-winning ASTORIA collection by HALCON is tailored for the modern workplace and crafted to create elevated spaces for connection, conversation and community. Jurors praised the well-appointed assortment for its exceptional design and everyday usability, highlighting its sculptural bases, refined materials and thoughtfully concealed rolling casters. With flexible configurations, integrated technology options, and meticulous attention to detail, ASTORIA offers a compelling solution for today’s dynamic environments.

“Elegance is the key word when it comes to ASTORIA. It makes the capabilities seem too good to be true. Here, you will not be sacrificing design for functionality,” notes the jury. The line was also recognized for Gold Awards in the Collections for Collaboration, Tables: Café, and Tables: Conference categories.

Judged by a panel of business journalists from Bloomberg, Newsweek, Vogue Business, Forbes and Morning Brew, among other notable publications — alongside seasoned facility managers from Northwestern Mutual and Aflac — the awards were based on first-hand product evaluations conducted on-site at THE MART, the largest privately held commercial building in the U.S. Each product was thoroughly vetted on criteria including adaptability, sustainability alignment, technology integration, productivity, wellness and user experience, and contribution to the bottom line.

Armstrong Flooring® TimberTones® Densified Hardwood is a groundbreaking innovation in commercial flooring. Made from 100% real hardwood, TimberTones is exclusively available through AHF Products. Using a patented process that applies heat and pressure—without acrylic fillers or chemicals—this technology densifies the wood by closing the open cells, densifying the veneer not the core, resulting in a floor that’s not only truly hardwood but also six times more dent-resistant and four times more scratch-resistant than traditional wood. Any wood, from oak and hickory to soft woods like walnut and pine, are now viable design options. For example, hickory, the second hardest wood species grown in the U.S., measures 1820 on the Janka Hardness Scale, once densified skyrockets to 3500—quite the leap! Manufactured domestically in Somerset, Kentucky, TimberTones is built to withstand the demands of high-traffic commercial environments. Beyond its impressive durability, it’s also waterproof, offering 8 hours of top-down protection, and features antimicrobial technology to inhibit the growth of bacteria on the surface, ensuring a cleaner, low-maintenance solution. With TimberTones, designers get a stunning, 100% natural hardwood floor that combines beauty, strength, and easy upkeep, perfect for modern commercial spaces.

April 14, 2025 — As the global trade landscape remains unpredictable, AHF Products offers a reliable solution for customers seeking timely, competitively priced flooring. With 11 manufacturing facilities across the U.S., the company is strategically positioned to serve residential and commercial clients, ensuring that many products are in stock and ready for fast shipping. This robust domestic manufacturing network enables AHF Products to deliver consistent, high-quality flooring, free from the disruptions of shifting trade policies.

As tariff policies remain in flux, global trade continues to face uncertainty, placing additional strain on supply chains and pricing. AHF Products, however, has strategically minimized these risks by investing heavily in its America-based manufacturing capabilities, allowing the company to offer many flooring solutions that are insulated from the pressures of international tariffs.

Jennifer Zimmerman, chief commercial officer of AHF Products, stated:

Given the instability and unpredictability of tariffs, AHF Products offers unmatched reliability for customers. By controlling our supply chain and manufacturing a significant portion of our products in the U.S., we ensure fast, reliable delivery — keeping projects on schedule, within budget, and free from concerns about tariffs and international trade disruptions.

Our customers shouldn’t have to worry about tariffs, supply chain delays, or unpredictable costs. With AHF, they can rest easy knowing they are getting flooring solutions that are in stock, ready to ship, and competitively priced — without the headaches of international trade uncertainties.

The proposed tariffs, which include a broad range of imported building materials, have caused significant challenges for many industry players, leading to rising costs and increased supply chain instability. AHF Products, however, has already positioned itself to overcome these obstacles. Over the past few years, the company has invested close to $40 million in expanding its domestic manufacturing footprint, ensuring a steady flow of in-stock products that are unaffected by the volatility of international trade policy.

Zimmerman explained:

We’ve made strategic investments to strengthen our U.S. manufacturing operations. As the largest U.S.-based manufacturer of hard surface flooring assortments, AHF Products has the capacity to meet demand quickly, with a wide range of products that are free from the tariffs impacting overseas imports. Our domestic operations provide us with a critical advantage during these uncertain times.

AHF’s key manufacturing facilities are strategically located across the U.S., including sites in Kankakee, Illinois (VCT), Lancaster, Pennsylvania (LVT and resilient sheet), and Crossville, Tennessee (porcelain tiles), as well as hardwood flooring plants in Somerset, Kentucky; Beverly, West Virginia; West Plains, Missouri; and Only, Tennessee. Additionally, AHF Products’ recent acquisition of two sawmills in West Virginia has further enhanced its control over the production process and material sourcing, reducing its reliance on external suppliers.

Reliable, fast shipping for timely project completion

By leveraging its domestic manufacturing capabilities and streamlined logistics, AHF Products can deliver flooring more quickly than overseas competitors, avoiding the shipping delays, container shortages, and price increases often tied to international trade challenges.

  • The Crossville CrossValue Collection, featuring 62 styles of U.S.-made porcelain tile, is stocked and ready for immediate shipment in three price tiers to suit various budget needs.
  • As the only domestic manufacturer of VCT (Vinyl Composition Tile), AHF Products provides a durable, low-maintenance flooring solution for high-traffic areas. An extended warranty of up to 20 years — and up to 30 years when paired with the company’s Strong System — reinforces the product’s exceptional long-term performance.
  • In 2025, AHF Products will unveil 35 new collections and over 500 new SKUs across top brands such as Armstrong Flooring, Crossville, Bruce, Hartco, and Robbins — many of which are proudly manufactured domestically for fast delivery.
